Born in a little island off Grenada named Carracou, Thandiwe grew independent early. She attended an international boarding school till she was 13, where she joined her mother in the UK after her South African father died. There she became intrigued by the local politics and quickly rose through the ranks becoming well known for her rapturous speeches. She became an efficient organiser, raising money while remaining uncompromising in her politics. She was impressed with Tuggstar’s vision to work with community groups. They married after a three year relationship and now have two children. But Thandiwe is still committed to the movement and behind the scenes is the engine behind the campaign.
